•Use を after the thing you’re turning off or erasing—like 電気を消す (turn off the light) or メッセージを消す (delete a message).
•Don’t confuse 消す (to turn something off) with 消える (to go off by itself)—消す needs a person doing the action.
•When talking about turning off electric devices or lights, say 電気を消してください (please turn off the light), not 電気が消す—が is for the subject, but here you need を for the object.
