Grammar Notes & Usage Tips
•並ぶ is an intransitive verb, so it doesn’t take を—use に to show where or with whom someone is lining up (e.g., お店の前に並ぶ = line up in front of the store).
•To say you're lining up with someone, use と (e.g., 友だちと並ぶ = line up with a friend).
•Don’t confuse 並ぶ (to line up) with 並べる (to line things up)—the first is for people or things lining up on their own, the second is when you arrange things yourself.
