Grammar Notes & Usage Tips

When talking about someone or something dying, use the particle が — for example, 犬が死にました (The dog died).
Don't use を with 死ぬ — it's not correct to say 彼を死にました; instead, say 彼が死にました (He died).
To talk about dying at a place, use the particle で — for example, 病院で死にました (He died at the hospital).
