Grammar Notes & Usage Tips
•写す is an action you do to something, so it’s usually used with the particle を—for example, ノートを写す means "to copy the notes."
•When using 写す to mean "to photograph," you’re usually taking a picture of something, so again use を—for example, 景色を写す means "to photograph the scenery."
•Don’t confuse 写す (to copy or to photograph) with 写る (to be photographed/to appear in a photo)—写す is something you actively do, while 写る happens passively.
