止む is often used with the particle が to show that something (like rain or noise) stops on its own — for example, 雨が止みました (The rain stopped).
Don’t use を with 止む — it’s not used to stop something actively; for that, use 止める instead (e.g., 音楽を止めました = I stopped the music).
