Grammar Notes & Usage Tips
•Use いらっしゃる when respectfully talking about someone else going (いく), coming (くる), or being somewhere (いる), like a teacher or customer.
•When using いらっしゃる for "being somewhere," pair it with に or にいらっしゃいます (e.g., 先生は教室にいらっしゃいます).
•Don’t use いらっしゃる for yourself—it's only for showing respect to others, so talking about your own actions with it is incorrect.
