Grammar Notes & Usage Tips
•Use くださる when someone of higher status (like a teacher or boss) gives something to you or someone in your group—it shows respect for the giver.
•The person doing the giving is marked with が, and the person receiving (you or your in-group) is marked with に—don’t mix them up!
•Don’t use くださる to talk about yourself giving something; it sounds arrogant—use あげる or やる instead.
