Grammar Notes & Usage Tips

似る usually uses the particle に to show what someone or something resembles — for example, 母に似ている means "I look like my mother."
Don’t use を with 似る — it's not about doing something to someone, but showing similarity to them.
You can use と to compare two things when saying they are similar — like この服はあの服と似ている ("This outfit is similar to that one").
