Grammar Notes & Usage Tips
•When using 乗り換える to mean "to transfer", don't forget to include the particle に before the place you're transferring to, like in 「次の駅で新宿に乗り換えます」 which means "I'll transfer to Shinjuku at the next station".
•As 乗り換える is an ichidan verb, to make it polite you simply change the final る to ります, like 「乗り換えます」 which means "I will change (trains/buses)".
•If you want to say you had to transfer trains, you can use the past tense of 乗り換える which is 乗り換えました, like in 「二回乗り換えました」 which means "I transferred trains twice".
