Example Sentences

I will notify the teacher that I will be absent from school tomorrow.
My friend informed me of the party time.
I didn’t notify (them) of the important matter.

Grammar Notes & Usage Tips

Use を before the thing you're notifying, and に before the person you're notifying — for example: 先生に予定を知らせました (I notified the teacher of the schedule).
Don't forget that 知らせる is a regular -ru verb, so the ます-form is 知らせます and the past tense is 知らせました.
A common mistake is confusing 知る (to know) and 知らせる (to notify); remember 知らせる is about telling someone else something.
