•Use する with nouns to say “to do [something]” — for example, 勉強をする (benkyou o suru) means “to study,” so don’t forget to include を before the noun.

•When talking about wearing small items like a watch or tie, use する instead of the usual “to wear” verb — for example, ネクタイをする (nekutai o suru) means “to wear a tie.”

•Be careful not to confuse する with なる (to become); for example, × 医者をする (× isha o suru) is wrong — say 医者になる (isha ni naru) to mean “to become a doctor.”
