Adjective + する

Add する to an adjective and it means "to make something ~." 高(たか)い (expensive) becomes 高(たか)くする (to make it more expensive). Our adjective conjugation guide covers this alongside all the other adjective forms.

い-Adjectives

Drop い, add くする:

Adjective	+ する
楽(たの)しい	楽(たの)しくする
高(たか)い	高(たか)くする
暖(あたた)かい	暖(あたた)かくする

いい becomes よくする.

な-Adjectives

Add にする:

Adjective	+ する
きれい	きれいにする
静(しず)か	静(しず)かにする
賑(にぎ)やか	賑(にぎ)やかにする

With してください

You'll hear this a lot in polite requests:

暖(あたた)かくしてください。 (Please make it warmer.)
静(しず)かにしてください。 (Please be quiet.)

Example Sentences

音楽(おんがく)は私(わたし)たちの生活(せいかつ)を楽(たの)しくする。
Music makes our lives more enjoyable.

部屋(へや)をきれいにしてください。
