Formation:い-adj: drop い + くなかったです | な-adj + じゃありませんでした

Polite Past Negative Adjectives

Saying "it was not ~" politely. If you know the negative and past forms, this follows naturally. See the adjective conjugation guide for all forms in one place.

い-Adjectives

Drop the final い and add くなかったです:

Present Negative	Past Negative
高(たか)くないです	高(たか)くなかったです
寒(さむ)くないです	寒(さむ)くなかったです
おいしくないです	おいしくなかったです

いい: よくなかったです.

An alternative: くありませんでした. 高(たか)くありませんでした sounds more formal.

な-Adjectives

Add じゃありませんでした:

Present Negative	Past Negative
好(す)きじゃありません	好(す)きじゃありませんでした
静(しず)かじゃありません	静(しず)かじゃありませんでした

More formal: ではありませんでした.
