How to use Ageru: grammar notes
•Use あげる when you (or someone in your group) give something to someone else — for example, わたしはともだちにプレゼントをあげました (I gave my friend a present).
•The person receiving the gift comes before に, and the thing being given comes before を — mixing them up is a common mistake!
•Don't use あげる when someone gives something to you — use くれる instead in that case.
