How to use Hajimaru: grammar notes
•始まる is used when something starts by itself — you don't start it, it just begins on its own.
•The thing that begins comes before the particle が — for example, 授業が始まる means “The class begins.”
•Don’t use を with 始まる — that’s for 始める, which means “to start (something)” and is used when someone is doing the action.
