How to use Kakaru: grammar notes
•Use かかる with time or money to say how long something takes or how much it costs — for example, 1時間かかる means "It takes one hour."
•The thing that takes time or money usually comes before かかる with no particle, but you can use に to show what the time or money is for — like 東京に行くのに3時間かかる ("It takes 3 hours to go to Tokyo").
•Don’t use を with かかる — since it’s an intransitive verb, there’s no direct object, so saying お金をかかる is incorrect; say お金がかかる instead.
